We had a very special visitor at SkySight Photography recently...

Santa Day has become a beloved annual tradition here at Skysight Photography. All of my family, friends, and clients look forward to this day year round, like a beacon of Christmas through the forest of fall leaves. It's really my Christmas gift to everyone. On Santa Day, we

invite everyone to come to our studio and meet the one and only Santa Claus for a free session. We create a beautiful little set every year, and this years theme was "Making Cookies with Santa".

The set was all about the red and white treats, rock candy, gumballs, candy canes, and marshmallows overflowing on our

adorable little table, and the kids were barely able to contain their excitement to be there with the big man in the red suit.

We had a first come, first serve system for Santa Day, and since it's such a popular event, we knew we'd have some folks waiting around for a while. So that no one got the winter blues while they were waiting,  we had a whole room dedicated to Christmas Games, like Santa's Cookie Toss, Pin the Nose on the Snowman, and a Reindeer Food Station, where the kids could let out their energy and win prizes to take home with them. The smells of hot chocolate and sounds of Christmas music set the perfect tone for the day. We couldn't have asked for a better Christmas kickoff. A big thank you to everyone who attended, you've made it quite a feat to top for next year!

Capturing the magic - behind the scenes!

A portion of the sales collected that day, in addition to cash donations made by the families who attended, were collected and given to the Blackburn Center Against Domestic and Sexual Violence this week. The center how this will certainly add some Christmas cheer at the shelter for the women and children.

The kids were overjoyed to be able to talk to Santa while using a bit of their creativity, which made for some wonderfully endearing photos. We've even got some great Christmas Cards already featuring shots from Santa Day, and your children mesmerized by Santa Claus always makes for a great keepsake. Every year Santa Day gets a little bigger and a little better, and this year was no exception! www.skysightphotography.comwww.skysightphotography.com

The candy, the cookies, the colors, and of course Santa himself made this set really pop. Here are just a few of my favorite shots from the official Skysight Photography Santa Day set:

In addition to the game room and Christmas movies, we created the 'Selfie Station', a decorated corner of the studio with some fun props where everyone could take a selfie while they were waiting to meet Santa Claus. I think you can decide for yourself if the kiddos enjoyed themselves. Some of them even had very appropriate holiday outfits for the selfie station. Beware the silly string!

Finally, a shout out to our helpers for Santa day! Between the decorating, the organizing, and the general morale boosting, they were all a great help! My niece Livia (left) was a delight to have in the Santa room with us, setting an impossibly high bar for Christmas Cheer. Rachel (right), my helper for the day, was a lifesaver when it came to keeping me organized. Thank you guys for being there!

Another thank you Shannon, who checked everyone in, and Kathleen, who helped everyone get their orders after their shoots, in addition to helping with the decorations. You guys were a big help this year!
