Westmoreland County Courthouse Weddings | Greensburg PA Photographer

If you're considering a courthouse wedding in Western Pennsylvania, the beautiful Westmoreland County Courthouse in downtown Greensburg deserves a spot at the top of your list! There's something incredibly special about a courthouse wedding. The simplicity, the intimacy, and the genuine emotion of two people choosing to begin their next chapter together make these celebrations some of my favorites to photograph. Whether you're dreaming of a quiet ceremony with just the two of you or an intimate gathering with your closest family and friends, Westmoreland County offers a beautiful setting for your wedding day.

Located in the heart of downtown Greensburg, Pennsylvania, the Westmoreland County Courthouse is one of the area's most recognizable architectural landmarks. Designed by architect William Kauffman, construction of the current courthouse began in 1901 and was completed in 1907, with its official dedication taking place on January 31, 1908. Known for its breathtaking Beaux-Arts architecture, the courthouse features beautiful granite stonework, intricate carvings, elegant marble interiors, and a magnificent dome rising 175 feet above the ground. The courthouse's timeless elegance makes it a stunning backdrop for wedding photography. From the impressive exterior entrance to the beautiful architectural details throughout the building, there are wonderful opportunities to capture romantic, classic portraits.

One of my favorite things about photographing courthouse weddings is the contrast between the grandeur of the historic building and the simplicity of the celebration itself. You don't need an elaborate venue or hundreds of guests to create something truly extraordinary. While traditional weddings remain a beautiful way to celebrate, more couples are discovering the appeal of smaller, more intentional celebrations.

I've noticed an increasing number of couples reaching out about courthouse wedding photography, often for weekday ceremonies in the late morning or early afternoon. And I absolutely love it!

There's a certain charm to exchanging vows in an intimate setting, stepping outside as newlyweds, and spending the rest of the day celebrating however you choose. Maybe that means an intimate dinner at a favorite restaurant, a backyard gathering with family and friends, or simply enjoying your first afternoon together as a married couple.

Choosing a weekday courthouse wedding has so many wonderful benefits! For couples looking for a more intimate and relaxed experience, it's a great way to keep the focus on what matters most: celebrating your love with the people closest to you. With less planning and fewer expenses than a traditional wedding, you have the freedom to put your budget toward the things that are most important to you. Plus, the historic Westmoreland County Courthouse and surrounding downtown Greensburg offer beautiful backdrops for timeless wedding photos. After the ceremony, you can make the day your own, whether that means enjoying a romantic lunch together, heading out for an elegant dinner, or celebrating with family and friends in a more casual setting.

And of course, don't forget to leave a little time afterward for beautiful wedding portraits!

After more than 20 years as a photographer, I've learned that the most meaningful wedding moments aren't always the grandest ones. Sometimes they're the nervous smiles before the ceremony, the way two people look at each other while exchanging vows, or the laughter and excitement as they walk away hand in hand, officially married. That's what I love about courthouse weddings. They're personal, heartfelt, and filled with authentic emotion. And those moments deserve to be remembered just as beautifully as any large wedding celebration.

Whether you're planning something simple and spontaneous or have been dreaming of an intimate courthouse ceremony for years, I'd be honored to capture your story. If you're considering a courthouse wedding in Greensburg, I'd love to hear from you!

I offer photography coverage for intimate celebrations, including 1–3 hour courthouse wedding sessions, perfect for capturing your ceremony, beautiful portraits, and those unforgettable newlywed moments.

Because no matter how big or small your wedding day may be, your love story deserves to be beautifully remembered.

Below are a few of my favorite moments captured at the beautiful Westmoreland County Courthouse.
