Jason and Jim first reached out nearly a year before their wedding to inquire about photography. After a brief Zoom call, it was immediately clear that we were the right fit for each other—connected by a shared vision for how their day would feel and be remembered.

After years of photographing weddings, I’ve come to recognize those couples who truly value more than just beautiful images. Jason and Jim were that kind of couple—intentional, present, and deeply thoughtful about the experience of their wedding day.

For this feature, I’ve chosen to step back and let their own words and memories guide the story. In doing so, you’re invited to experience their day as they lived it—through the emotion, the energy, and the meaningful moments that made it theirs.

Autumn:

"What part of the day are you most grateful was captured?"

Jim & Jason: 

"Even though it was "our day," we are particularly grateful for the moments with our family and friends being captured. Going through the effort of planning a wedding was important because we wanted to include all of our loved ones and count them in for the celebration.

Since then, my one grandma just turned 90, and we unfortunately lost my other grandma and our cat (who Autumn very patiently waited for while we wrangled him for photos!). We've been using the photos to reflect on how all of them made our day even better."

Autumn:

"What emotions did you feel when you viewed your photos?"

Jim & Jason:

"Laughter, elation, bittersweet happiness, and a (maybe overly?) self-satisfied air of confidence for how well our best sides were captured in every photo!

It really was a rollercoaster of joy, taking our time on all 1,400+ photos to absorb it all in."

Autumn:

What was your experience like working with us?

Jim & Jason:

"From the moment we interviewed with Autumn, we knew SkySight was going to offer exactly what we wanted for our wedding day—a stellarly photographed package of us and our loved ones, and the talent, organization, and light-heartedness to bring it all together in a meaningful way.

I think one of my favorite moments working with them was seeing Bill climb rocks like a lynx to get a good angle while Autumn was still furiously snapping away to make sure no time was wasted in capturing the good lighting.

We took the time to talk about their wedding day too and laugh about the small stuff. They're just cool to hang with, get you comfortable for some shots, and great at what they do."
