Behind the Scenes with the Crystal Blue Band

In April I had the pleasure of working with The Crystal Blue Band, former members of Tommy James and the Shondells. Their history is fascinating, I suggest checking it out on their website. Living here in Greensburg, I never realized these legendary musicians started right here in my backyard. Of course I knew their music... I grew up listening to their hits like Hanky Panky, Crystal Blue Persuasion, Crimson and Clover, Mony Mony and more... In fact, I was the generation who fell in love with "I Think We're Alone Now" when Tiffany covered it in 1987. Well, these legends are back with recent recordings of these amazing songs we all know and love. They are kicking off their 50 year anniversary with a tour, starting right here in Pittsburgh. Tickets are available online, and of course you'll have a chance to pick up their CD I shot the cover for at the show. Blogged below is a behind the scenes look at the shoot and the final product. The cover image was shot in our natural light room at the studio, and the action shots all were done in my husband Bill's studio, Sunfall Records, located in our building alongside my studio. Special thanks to Bill and my mom for helping me hang all the gold records so perfectly straight! ;)
