​I had SO much fun glamour-shooting the incredibly funny, talented and all-around-lovely woman and blogger, Stephanie Jankowski.  Her blog, When Crazy Meets Exhaustion can absolutely crack me up and make me tear up at the same time.  You've got to absolutely follow her website newsletter, Facebook and Instagram. 

Stephanie said that she had no idea she could be so glamorous, but I KNEW she would rock it.... and ROCK IT she did! As soon as Jacki revealed the finished hair and makeup to Steph in a mirror, I saw an instant transformation in her body language.  If makeup and some slight changes on the surface can affect our confidence that much, maybe that's the key to unlocking it all the time.  Once in a while, we can use a pick-me-up to take our tired minds and overworked bodies, and remind us that we really are absolutely the most beautiful woman in the world. Loving yourself is #1, because we can't pour anything on to others if our own cup is empty.  

This reaction Stephanie had to her reveal (and later when she saw her photos) is why my makeup artist, Jacki, and I started the glamour campaign for photographing women in this way. We want to remind women that they can take a day away from work, kids, husbands, responsibilities, and be pampered & photographed. And especially - not feel bad for it! We should never have to say "I am going to be selfish and pamper myself today"... Ugh, that word! selfish. It makes me shudder. Instead we should say "I am going to give myself what I deserve today!"  Do it for yourself, for your spouse, for your children. I was so happy to be able to give this opportunity to Stephanie who is such a hard working mother of 3 (and writes about the ups & downs of it in such a hilarious way!)
