The Women in the Woods
This is the kind of artistic photo shoot that every photographer thinks about doing. Fantasy settings like this provide a truly fascinating point of view to portray. This shoot put us out in the woods, in an ethereal atmosphere with a steampunk flavor. The models, regal in their other-worldly attire, looked like vivid characters from a dark novel. These romantic pictures mix the glamour of high fashion with an eerie type of fantasy that made for an excellent series of shots.
Some might think that the high victorian collars and the edgy style of this shoot makes the theme appear to be rather villainous. While that's a valid observation, I think these shots are so complex and deep, that they require a more complex analysis than a single word like "villains" or "royalty" can provide. Some of the shots certainly bring those descriptive words to mind, of course. One of the marks of a great piece of art is that it can evoke a different emotional response from each member of the audience.
A big thank you to our models, Carley and Lexi Huffman, Kaylyn Farneth, and Greta Shepardson for their fabulous performance. Another thank you to Deborah Lindquist for these fabulous Steampunk gowns, skirts, bustiers and neckpieces. And last but not least, thank you to Jacqueline DeMario from Beautified Makeup, for her beautiful work with the makeup and hair styling on this shoot.
